About Nicolai Grosell


Nicolai Grosell is a talented, multi-faceted beauty, still life, and portrait photographer with nearly ten years experience creating images for top fashion magazines, beauty clients, and celebrities around the world. It has been said that his work reflects that of an artist who “paints with light,” and in the tradition of the great master artists, his images capture a rich interplay of light bursting forth from deep shadows.

A native of Denmark, Nicolai graduated in 1992 with a BA from the Copenhagen Technical School of Photography. He moved to NYC in 1993 and was soon hired as Michael Thompson’s first assistant. Nicolai began building his freelance career with an impressive client list in 1999. New York City is still home base for Nicolai, but he also enjoys quiet time upstate doing carpentry, hunting, and finding inspiration in the great outdoors.
