Nicolai Grosell was born in Denmark. He started photography studies in 1987 and graduated in 1992 with a BA from the Copenhagen Technical School of Photography.

In 1993, Nicolai moved to NYC and became Michael Thompson's first assistant. He has since photographed models and celebrities for numerous magazines including Vogue, Marie Claire, Allure, L'Official and Figaro.

His advertising clients include RMK Cosmetics, Avon, Tommy Hilfiger and Bobby Brown Cosmetics.

Nicolai resides in New York.
